Story Starters - Page Ten
You are in a public place - perhaps a restaurant or airport terminal or shopping mall - someplace where a lot of random strangers gather. A squirmy child is pointing and trying to shout something but is hushed by a parent. They keep squiriming and wanting to tell what they know or what they see. The child finally spills the tale, loudly. People notice. Who notices? Who is threatened by the child's words? How is the child now in danger? Does the parent remain unaware? Or do all the random strangers become aware at once? What is "it?" What is happening? How are all their lives changed as a result? How do you (or your character)become involved? What is your role? What are the consequences to you or your character? Are you the parent? The bad guy? Are there any bad guys? Are you a bystander?
