Willamette Writers is the largest writers' organization in Oregon and one of the largest writers' organizations in the United States. Willamette Writers' goal is to provide and encourage a creative environment and support system for current and aspiring writers. Since its beginning in 1965, Willamette Writers has provided meeting places for the exchange of ideas and information and has initiated programs designed to help writers increase skills related to the craft of writing. Both published and aspiring writers are invited to join. Dues are $36 a year.
Novelists, Inc. - Ninc is the only writers organization devoted exclusively to the needs of multi-published novelists.

CineStory is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is dedicated to nurturing new screenwriting talent through its annual screenwriting contest, retreat, and fellowship. These programs are aimed at writers with a high level of craft who are ready to enter the industry. CineStory is based in Los Angeles with a retreat center in Idyllwild, California, but the contest and retreat are open to international screenwriters.
Associated Writing Programs, The (AWP) - AWP provides community, opportunities, ideas, news, and advocacy for writers and teachers of writing.

Mystery Readers International - MRI is the largest mystery fan/reader organization in the world, is open to all readers, fans, critics, editors, publishers, and writers. Started by Janet A. Rudolph in Berkeley, California, it now has members in all 50 of the United States and 18 foreign countries.
